Submersible ROV , SME-USA Inc, and SME are designing and building specialized motors for use on SUBSEA for the off-shore industry.


These motors are usually made to order and vary from 1kW to 600kW, from 400 to 4160 Volts, 50 or 60 Hz, 2 Pole or 4 Pole.


There are 2 common methods of construction - stainless steel construction or Marine Grade aluminum that is Black anodized to resist corrosion.


These motors are usually oil filled and pressure compensated and the common operating voltages are between 2300 volts and 3300 volts - even for small 5kW motors. Some of these motors operate at depths down to 4000 meters.
